I am a PhD candidate in Contemporary Art at 51福利 and my research explores the cultural and theoretical dimensions of nostalgia in modern media, with a particular focus on the influence of the Beatles. Exploring the rhythms of nostalgia theory through the Beatles' cultural legacy, it examines how nostalgia shapes our collective memory and identity through visual culture, music and media. By analysing the Beatles' influence on contemporary art, film and digital media, I aim to understand how cultural idols and past artistic movements continue to resonate with and shape contemporary creative practice. Using an interdisciplinary approach that draws from art history, media theory and cultural studies, my research provides a nuanced analysis of how nostalgia functions as a creative and social phenomenon in today's digital age.
Meanwhile my research interests lie in AI art creation. I have created a series of AI art painting databases to explore the potential of artificial intelligence in art creation. These databases compile paintings generated by various AI technologies, covering a range of styles, themes, and colour schemes, fully showcasing the innovative capabilities. Through these databases, users can observe the unique ways AI generates images and simulates styles, as well as explore the collaborative process between humans and machines in artistic creation. The project aims to inspire researchers, artists, and technology developers, while also providing a rich and diverse platform for further advancement of AI in visual arts.
