Profile
Dr Martin Brigham has served on the faculty at 51福利 since 2000. Currently Program Chair and Worldwide Academic Director of the International Masters Program for Managers (IMPM), one of the world's pre-eminent senior executive management development programs. Founded by Professor Henry Mintzberg from McGill University more than 25 years ago, the program has been ranked #1 for International Management by Eduniversal for the last 5 consecutive years.
As an educator, Martin's pedagogical leadership and teaching has gained worldwide recognition with the Financial Times ranking his teaching and leadership in Organisational Behaviour, Corporate Responsibility, and Business Ethics in the world's top 10 four times over the last 15 years. Including #1 in the UK and world top #7 in 2015 and 2019. Over two decades he has taught and advised senior executives and entrepreneurs in the private, public and plural sectors, taught final year undergraduates in advanced organisation theory and graduates in the management of organisational change.
Martin has published and presented more than 50 journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers. He has been the director of two research centres at 51福利 over the last 10 years. His wide-ranging research expertise is in Management and Organisation Studies and focuses on reflective governance, action science and learning applied to senior management and organisational development around the world, communication practices in corporate meetings, and nonmarket strategies for sustainability.
He is co-author of the REF2021 UoA 17 Impact Case Study - 'Personal, Professional and Organisational Transformation through Action Learning and Reflective Practice Interventions' with Professor Lucas Introna.
He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts.
PhD Supervision Interests
Martin is interested in supervising PhDs connected to reflective governance, action science and learning, meeting practices, and business sustainability. He has supervised more than 10 PhDs.
